CAMLogic F.A.Q.

Commercial F.A.Q.

Have the codes of your level sensors changed?

Yes, our product codes have changed and contain all the information related to your chosen configuration. If you are finalizing a new order please make sure that the code contains all the information in the product description; if you are re-purchasing a product that you had previously ordered please check the new code to update it.

When I setup a product and add it to the shopping basket, does it become an order?

No, in this situation there is still a quotation, to proceed with the purchase you need to send the request for a quotation, wait for confirmation from our company and finally confirm the order.

How can I re-buy the same product without having to re-configure it?

To re-buy the same level switch, simply enter the commercial code or configuration code in the 'Product Search' search bar on our website. You can also access your reserved area in the 'order' section and use the 'add to cart' button to proceed with the buying process.

Where can I find the technical documentation (certifications, manuals, data sheets and declarations of conformity) for the product I bought?

The technical documentation is available in the 'documents/3D models' section on the specific product page on our website. To see the specific product page click here.

What are CAMLogic's standard delivery times?

The average delivery time is approximately 10 days from the date of order, but we can also handle urgent cases with reduced delivery times. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any requirements!

To find a product, should I use the commercial code (example: PFG05) or the configuration code (specific code based on the customization made through the configurator)?

Both codes can be used to search for a product, you only need to enter one of them in the search bar of our website.

Installation F.A.Q.

What types of threads are available for your level sensors?

To satisfy the needs of all our customers, CAMLogic offers different types of threads. See the document below to check all available threads and select the one that best suits your connection and the level indicator of your choice.

In which direction should the level sensors be installed?

Generally all level sensors should be installed in the following direction: with the cable outlet plugs pointing to the right or downwards. For more information, please consult the reference manual, which can be found under the "documents/3D models" section on the product page of your interest.

In which position can level switches be installed?

In general, all our level indicators can be installed in any position, as you wish (paying attention to the direction), for more information please refer to the specific product manual. Exceptions are the products listed in the pdf below.

Where should the cables be placed in the inside of the level sensor?

There are different wiring harnesses depending on the type of power supply and the type of level indicator chosen. For more information, please consult the reference manual, which can be found under the "documents/3D models" section on the product page of your interest.

How can I prevent that water comes into the level sensors?

To avoid infiltrating water into the measurement instruments, the level switch must be positioned correctly (see installation position faq) and use plugs and cable glands suitable for the thread of the cable entry hole. After wiring the level sensor, check that you have closed the cover correctly.

Technical F.A.Q.

What electrical connections are available for rotary sensors (PFG05, PFG57 and PFG09) and pressure level switches (MN21)?

The electrical connections available for these types of indicators are: faston terminal, spring terminal block and screw terminal block. For more explanations, see the video tutorial where we show the different connection options of the basic PFG05 model.

Is it possible to customize level sensors according to specific customer requirements?

Sure, customization is one of CAMLogic's founding principles. That's why our company offers the possibility of customizing -from flanges, to paddles, to extensions- each level sensor through the specific 'configurator' section.

Why do propellers take different shapes?

Because the different helix shapes are adapted to the type of connection of the level indicator and this allows different materials to be handled in density (0.1 to 2 kg/dm3).

Read more in the dedicated article.

Which level sensors can I use as replacements for vibration level sensors?

The most suitable level switches in this case are all those included in our range of sensors for solids, from rotary to capacitive. Click here to see all CAMLogic level switchess that can replace with vibration measurement instruments.

What are the possible feeds that your level sensors can have?

The possible power supplies of our level switches are: 115/230 VAC; 24/48 VAC; 50/60 HZ; 24 VDC. Use the configurator section inside your chosen measurement instrument page to select the power supply you prefer.

What level sensors are suitable for contact with corrosive materials and environments?

All level indicators that have their parts in contact with the products made of stainless steel can be used with corrosive materials (both solids and liquids). Specifically, our company offers six different types of level switches: PFG05X, PFG57X, PFG09Z, PFGLP, CLC40 and CLR.

What certifications are available for your level sensors?

CAMLogic has always been committed to producing level sensors that can obtain all relevant certifications; the available certifications are: ATEX, IECEx, UKCA, MOCA and EAC. Each level switch, depending on its characteristics, has certain certifications. Consult the following guide to see specifically the certifications for each individual level switch.

What sizes of flanges are available?

To satisfy the needs of all our customers, CAMLogic offers flanges in different sizes. Please refer to the following document to see all available sizes for your selected level switch and choose the flange that best suits your needs.

Is it possible to change the length of the level sensors?

Yes, our company is committed to accommodating all of its customers' needs, thus providing the possibility to configure each level indicator. Indeed, it is possible to customise the measurement instruments with different types of extensions (for example flexible, adjustable, galvanised or stainless steel extensions). For more information see the extensions section available on our website.

Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the rotary level sensors according to the material?

Yes, is possible to adjust the sensitivity of our rotatory measurement instruments through the selection of a suitable and correct sized paddle. You can see the wide range of our paddles and choose the most suitable propeller based on the density of your material (0.1 to 2.0 kg/dm3) by clicking here.

Do your level sensors need maintenance?

Considering the quality and durability that have characterized our level switches for over fifty years, we can say that they are usually maintenance-free. If you ever need any spare parts, you can find everything necessary in the appropriate section. For any requirements please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is the maximum temperature your level switches can reach?

The maximum temperature is 600°C, the appropriate sensor in this case is the PFG05ATFV.

There are also several level sensors suitable for high temperatures (able to tolerate from 200°C up to a maximum of 600°C),  we have the PFG05AT, the PFG05ATFV, the PFG57AT and the PFG09ZATF

Which level indicator is the most appropriate for my area of application?

Check out the summary article of our case studies. You will find several of our partners, their areas of application and their selected CAMLogic level sensors. This guide will help you identify the most suitable sensor for your needs.

Do you have level sensors for gas risk zones?

Yes, in this situation the most suitable measurement instrument is the PFG09 , a rotary level switch (ATEX certified) that can be used inside areas with the presence of gas and dust.

Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the CLC40 conductive level sensor family?

Yes, it is possible to adjust al sensitivity by using the internal trimmer, turning clockwise to increase it or counterclockwise to decrease it. It is also possible to enter a delay in signaling (0 to 10 seconds) through the DIP switch.

Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of capacitive level switches that belong to the PFG06 family?

The sensitivity of the capacitive level sensors is adjustable using the internal trimmer, turning clockwise to increase sensitivity or counterclockwise to decrease it.

How can I understand if my PFG05 is working properly?

The optional 'Rotation Control' can be used to check the correct functioning of the level sensor. This accessory adds a signal to indicate shaft rotation; indeed, when it rotates freely, a microswitch generates a pulse signal (8 pulses/rotation) between contacts 1 and 4. To obtain this option, configure your product by clicking here.

How can I understand if my PFG05 is correctly powered?

The PFG05 power supply can be controlled using the electrical option "Voltage control" it can be understood. To obtain this type of option, customize the level switch through the specific section of the configurator.
